Students appear for competitive exams because these exams give admission into the best government and private colleges. Most of these exam papers are asked in the form of MCQs (Multiple Choice Questions). It is habitual that test takers have a tough time with multiple choice questions, this is because they consider multiple choice questions as a stress-free set of questions when equated to another type of questions and so they forget to pay attention to it. There are a lot of competitive exams where these MCQs are asked such as CAT, SAT, JEE, TOEFL, SAT, etc.
Attempt Non-negative Marks Questions Compulsorily
There are always some non-negative mark questions in all the competitive exam papers. These questions are mostly “Match the Following” type and should never be left unattempted. Read the instructions and marking schemes properly and answer all the related questions to improve your chances of scoring more marks.
Prioritize the Basic Chapters and Memorize the Concepts
There are some basic topics which can fetch easy marks with little preparation. Topics like atoms, radiation and other elementary topics only require the basic fundamentals and formulas to answer them. Revise these topics properly and get well versed with the concepts and formulas to increase your score in the JEE 2018. Since these topics require minimal time to prepare and can fetch nearly 20-25 marks, proper importance should be given while studying these topics.
Analyse Multiple Units and Values in the Options
Often there are options having the same numerical values but different units or vice versa in the JEE paper. Generally, it is seen that those options have a higher chance of being the correct answer. For example, if in a sample answer option, the values are given as 1m, 2m, 3m and 1 Km. Here it can be seen that numerical value 1 has two different units (m and km). Also, as there are three options related to “m”, there is a maximum probability that the answer option will be 1m.
Draw Appropriate Diagrams for Specific Topics
There are some questions, especially from Coordinate Geometry, where drawing appropriate diagram with respect to the mentioned parameters can easily fetch some marks in the exam. Thus, drawing appropriate diagrams can also help to calculate the radius, area and other parameters that might help to solve the given question.
